In a maritime industry get-together organized on Wednesday, 26 December, 2018 by All Pakistan Shipping Association (APSA), Manzil Pakistan’s team apprised Federal Minister of Port and Shipping Mr. Ali Haider Zaidi about necessity of revision in maritime laws to bring them in line with modern business & technological requirements, while providing draft bills on Carriage of Goods by Sea-2018, Sea Carriage Shipping Documents-2018 the Minister was informed that the piece of pending draft legislation will not only resolve the pending issues but will also facilitate the shipping industry subsequently. The Minister was also briefed on the need of revision on Pakistan Merchant Marine Policy-2001, and was provided a working paper which covers the analysis of current policy with incentive oriented recommendations mainly focused to enhance private sector investment in shipping sector with a goal to improve Pakistan’s economy. |
