Rear Admiral Hasan M. Ansari, HI(M),S.Bt.,C Eng(UK), M.I.Mech (E) retired from the Pakistan Navy after 40 years service. Served in the Sindh Public Service Commission(Member) for 5 years. Authored a joint study with Admiral Ravi Vohra,I.N. titled 'Confidence Building Measures at Sea:
Opportunities for India and Pakistan". Published as Cooperative Monitoring Center Occasional paper 33, Dec. 2003 at Sandia Laboratories,USA.
Active member of CCSAW(Confidence &Cooperation in South Asian Waters) sponsored by Dalhousie University,Halifax, Canada and Nat. Defence University, Wash. DC.engaged in reasearching solutions for maritime issues in the Indian Ocean and maritime disputes between India and Pakistan.Helped found the Pakistan Institute for Maritime Affairs(PIMA), Karachi.
